More Mocca Motion

One of the fun un-themed products released by Karen Foster Design at CHA was the new Mocca Motion paper pad - 12 brown & turquoise patterned papers - and you get 7 sheets of each design, so it is ideal for paper crafting projects, as well as scrapbooks. 

This is a set of the Favor-Its Six Pack that I decorated with some of the papers - all products are from KFD except for the silk flowers and ribbon. I thought this would make great party favors for a birthday party, or shower, or even fill them up with any small gift (gift card, tickets, candy, etc.) and use them individually as gift packaging.

Can't you imagine these spread out on a dining room table set with arrangments of fall flowers and candles to make the bling on the boxes sparkle?

 

 

That's all for now... I probably won't be around much over the next few weeks - I'll be too busy trying to squeeze every last drop out of summer!

 

Summer wishes

Why is it that 90% of the photos I took with my old camera look warped? Why did I not notice this at the time?? anyway, here is a card that was published in Paper Trends that is actually square in real life :)

I used rub-ons for the sentiment and glued some real sand and tiny shells along the bottom.

Wishing you things that make you go "ahhh..." today (except for a sore throat that would require a visit to the doctor ☺)

Vacation Layout

For those of you that live in New England... can you believe how perfect this summer has been? I can't remember so many sunny days... one right after another... sad to think there are only a few weeks left before school.

Thankfully, one of those weeks will be our annual trip to the Maine coast. We go every year - even if some years it's just for a day. I lived in Maine for a year right before I got married and didn't really appreciate it's beauty... I was too busy being miserable working 80 hour weeks and at being away from all my friends and Joe. 

When you enter the state, the sign at the side of the road reads "Maine - the way life should be" and I used to think "this is NOT how my life should be!".... but now, I can totally appreciate the slower pace of life, the beauty of the coast, the small towns that look the same as they did decades ago, the antique shops where one can still find a bargain, and especially all the places to eat lobster! You can see some photos from last year's visit on this post.

I put a few of them in a layout using Anna Griffin's new Calisto collection - the gray/blues and soft golds reminded me of summer in New England. I created a pocked to tuck away more photos and journaling tags. (BTW, the ink on my printer was running out and the colors are a bit wonky... looking at it here I realize that I need to reprint that bottom photo for sure)

I love to add my own details to pre-made products - I've had these brads forever (I think they were from SEI) but I thought the color was perfect.
