Did you know that October is National Stamp Collecting Month? neither did I... but when I found out, it seemed like a good time to post these layouts that were created for Karen Foster Design and the Stamp Collecting line they released this year.
I have to confess that although my husband and boys do collect coins, they do not collect stamps. However, they were good sports when I asked them to pose for a few photos so I could create these layouts.
Luckily, I had recently been to the post office and picked up several sheets of stamps... little did I know how handy they would be as photo props. :)
I even got to dust off my postage stamp-edged scissors for this one.
I actually do collect stamps, although not in the traditional sense. I collect them to use as memorabilia on travel layouts and cards or other projects. International ones are especially interesting, don't you think?
I'm not sure what happened to the photos on this layout... they are really grainy, but the rest of the layout seems okay... weird... they aren't like that in person.
I think these papers and stickers would work well on general travel themed and other types of projects. Remember when the faux-postage craze was so hot? Maybe it's time to bring it back?
Yes, this layout includes faux-journaling too... but I couldn't resist using those itty bitty stamps as bullet points.
My husband was trying hard not to laugh in this one. If I hadn't told you, wouldn't you think he was a real stamp collector and not just an imposter?
Thanks for starting the month with a visit to my blog. I promise the rest of the month will be filled with more traditional fall projects.
