Just coming up for air after being locked away working furiously on CHA projects... as soon as I finish writing this, I am heading to the post office to send them off. Looking forward to the sneak peeks - lots of new products - including several stamp sets - and I had so much fun using them!
Wanted to share a very quick, easy, and inexpensive idea for holiday treats. I think a hand-stamped tag adds a lot to the packaging - these are simply tied around $1 glass jars from Target - the perfect size for some homemade chocolate covered pretzels.
This is a great project for the kids to help with - I think my boys most enjoyed crushing the candy canes with a hammer. ☺ Start with your favorite pretzel, some white and semi-sweet chocolate chips, and assorted toppings. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over simmering water, dip the pretzels and place on parchment paper (or a silpat) and sprinkle on your favorite toppings while the chocolate is still soft. Here are some close-ups to give you a look at the combinations we created.
To create the pretzels with the red chocolate, we just melted some red candy melts (which you can find at the craft store or specialty baking store) and drizzled them with a fork.
Not bad for a few hours of effort and something that we all enjoyed doing together.
The white chocolate peppermint bark was also easy to make - I poured the leftover white chocolate onto a piece of parchment paper and then added blobs of the red chocolate in a random pattern and then swirled the two together with a toothpick. Crushed candy canes go on top. This looks very pretty broken into pieces and placed in a cellophane bag and tied with a ribbon and handmade tag.
I have a yummy cookie recipe to share tomorrow, so I hope you'll drop by for a visit!
I'm always reminded how quick and/or easy is defined by different people in many different ways. The only quick and easy in my book is handing over of the credit card and walking away with a bounty of treats, all other quick and easy are not achievable, LOL. xxoo.

ha ha Jing-Jing... I have no doubt you and your girls would be able to tackle this one! especially given some of the detail Ive seen on your layouts :)
But I like your idea of quick and easy too and believe me, I do plenty of that!
