Have I mentioned before how much I love October? Living in Massachusetts, this month usually has beautiful weather - cool, but sunny - and the foliage is magnificent. Of course, we also celebrate Halloween in a big way given that the state is home to Salem.... and what's not to love about a holiday where candy plays such a big role?
Me and My BIG Ideas came out with some adorable Halloween themed products this year (available at Michaels) and today I'm sharing a gift bag and matching card that features their new 6x6 paper pad.
The bag base is an inexpensive brown paper bag. The papers on the front can be mixed so one 6x6 pad could create a classroom full of goody bags.
I was working with prototypes when I created these - which means that I had to freehand cut all the stickers and elements. Don't worry, the ones you would buy are cut much more smoothly than this.
Each corner is embellished with a googly eye attached with a small Zot.
An assortment of small bows is a great way to use up scraps of ribbon. Whenever I decorate a gift bag, I use a piece of cardstock as the base. This makes the papers lay flat and eliminates any wrinkles that might occur if you were to adhere the paper directly to the bag.
The background paper on this card is my favorite part - the artists at Mambi are so talented!
All it needed was a sentiment and a few more stickers attached with foam squares to add a bit of dimension. Don't mind the strange lines on the sentiment; it was part of the prototype.
So glad you could stop by today! More Halloween projects coming tomorrow.
Wow! Great job especially since you were using a prototype. Thanks for the tip about using the card stock to adhere the papers to. I'm afraid I would have a wrinkly mess on me hand and in the wastebasket it would go. I'm sure my granddaughters would be thrilled to get treats from Grandma in bags like these. Thanks for sharing.

The card stock makes a big difference… Ive made my share of wrinkly messes before I tried that. :)
